Sand Between Your Toes wasn’t born in a boardroom. It was born from a feeling.
That feeling when you leave the everyday behind, step onto the sand and suddenly life seems a little simpler.
We’re Ian and Amanda, a husband-and-wife team from the Sunshine Coast, Australia. We’ve always loved the beach, the outdoors, travelling, exploring and finding those places that make you stop for a moment and think, this is where I want to be.
And somewhere along the way, Sand Between Your Toes became our way of sharing that feeling.
SBYT originally began with a simple idea: create products inspired by the relaxed Australian coastal lifestyle we love.
Swimwear, clothing, towels and beach gear became part of that story, but over time we realised SBYT was never really about what you wear.
It was about where you go, what you experience and who you share it with.
The beach might have been where our story started, but it certainly isn’t where it ends.
Sand Between Your Toes began with our love of the ocean, but over time it has grown into something bigger.
For us, the beach has never just been somewhere to swim.
It's where adventures begin.
Sometimes that means throwing a towel over your shoulder and heading down to the water. Other times it means loading the 4WD, hooking up the van and pointing the bonnet towards somewhere we've never been before.
Beach. Bush. Camping. 4WDing. Travelling. Exploring.
SBYT is becoming a lifestyle brand for people who would rather collect experiences than things, who don't mind a little sand in the car, and who know that some of the best places don't have perfect phone reception.
Our clothing, swimwear, accessories and gear are designed around that lifestyle.
Relaxed. Comfortable. Australian. And made for wherever the next adventure takes you.
It's more than our tagline.
It's a reminder to stop occasionally.
Put the phone down.
Take the long way home.
Watch the sunset.
Jump in the ocean.
Book the trip.
Light the campfire.
Laugh until your stomach hurts.
Spend time with the people who matter.
And don't become so busy planning the next chapter that you forget to enjoy the page you're on.
Life isn't made up only of holidays, birthdays and big milestones.
It's made up of thousands of little moments.
And one day, those little moments become the stories we tell.
So wherever you are, whether there's sand between your toes, dirt under your tyres or a campfire crackling beside you, we hope SBYT gives you a little reminder to slow down and…
For us, that might mean finding an empty stretch of beach, heading away in the 4WD, setting up camp somewhere beautiful, sitting around a fire, travelling somewhere we’ve never been before or simply watching the sun disappear over the horizon.
Those are the moments we remember.
And they're increasingly what SBYT is becoming.
We're taking the brand beyond clothing and creating something that celebrates adventure, escape, discovery and the places that mean something to us.
Not necessarily famous places.
Not necessarily faraway places.
Your places.
We all have one.
It might be a beach you return to every summer. A campsite hidden down a dusty track. A favourite fishing spot. A mountain lookout. A little town you stumbled across by accident.
Or somewhere you haven't discovered yet.
That's what our new SBYT mantra, Find Your Somewhere, means to us.
It isn't about constantly chasing the next destination. It's about finding the places, people and experiences that make life feel richer.
As SBYT evolves, you'll see changes.
There will still be pieces of the original SBYT, but you'll also see more of what we actually love doing: travelling, 4WDing, camping, beaches, discovering Australia and sharing the places we find along the way.
We're not pretending to have it all figured out either.
That's part of the fun.
We're simply taking SBYT in the direction life is taking us and inviting you along for the ride.
